Umm, we need more information on this. What kind of data is contained
in the MKV file? H.264? AC3? SRTs? VobSub? Does this only happen with
one particular file, or does it happen with other MKV files? Does
this happen with non-Matroska files (AVIs, MPGs?)

That's pretty vague. We have no idea what program you're scrolling in
(I'll assume it's the Explorer), and I have no idea of ANYTHING about
your G drive (NTFS? FAT32? Internal? External? PATA? SATA? >129 GB?
Is this your system disk? Is there anything special happening with
this disk, like has it been resized?)

Well, you're in a lot of trouble, then, seeing as ALL Windows
software uses rundll32 (unless you're running a 64-bit operating system)

Sorry, but you might have to remember the three Rs of Windows:
"Repent, Reboot, and Reinstall"

No idea, but this doesn't seem to be a problem with Matroska
software, most likely an error with Core Media Player. Try using
something else, like VLC. That should help us narrow down where the
problem could be.

Well, usually it's preferred that threads stay ON the mailing list,
so don't reply to me directly. Rather, keep replying to the list.
Given that I haven't used Windows as an operating system for around
five years, and never used anything in Windows besides VLC for
Matroska playback, it's highly likely that someone else can help you,
once we get more information.
