After some more thought about this issue and talking to Alex Noe:

Each Vorbis packet has a 'window size'. The number of samples in a
Vorbis packet is calculated by ('window size 1 + window size 2) / 4'. So
you need two Vorbis packets in order to calculate the duration of the
first one. Without decoding there seems no way to get the _exact_ number
of samples for a Vorbis block. So the duration will always stay slightly
off for Vorbis.


If Darl McBride was in charge, he'd probably make marriage
