Dear friends,

Please bear with me - i have never submitted a bug report before.
I did attempt to submitt this via bugzilla. Bug #587210
I thought I would also email you with what I am seeing.
Thank you

I am making ffv1 video & pcm audio file.mkv by transcoding 8bit
unCompressed avi into the mkv.
I also merge some meta data in the file.

If the file is larger : 1hr 40 min the mkvalidator finds errors.

Q1- are these errors 'a problem'
Q2- is there any work around available to me.
currently I simply chop the file down to ~ 1hr - then all is well.
I am using ubuntu 12.04 64

here are some details of what i am seeing
--------------------------------------------------------------------
mkvalidator v0.3.4, Copyright

ubuntu 12.04 64

ffmbc is
FFmbc version 0.7-rc7
Copyright (c) 2008-2012 Baptiste Coudurier and the FFmpeg developers

scenesavers at gagarin:~$ mkvalidator --help
mkvalidator v0.3.4, Copyright (c) 2010 Matroska Foundation

problem: some mkv do not validate

mkv made via
ffmbc -i $cap/$f -y -s 720x486 -vcodec ffv1 -pix_fmt yuv422p -aspect 4:3
-g 1 -acodec pcm_s24le -sample_fmt s32 /media/data/mkv_in/${f%.*}.mkv

## the making of the framemd5_process.txt
ffmpeg -y -i $mkv_in/${f%.*}.mkv -f framemd5 $attachd/${f%.*}/framemd5.txt
2> $attachd/${f%.*}/framemd5_process.txt &

mkvalidator --no-warn --quiet /$attachd/${f%.*}/${f%.*}.mkv 2>
/home/scenesavers/01_gagarin_logs/van_err_chck/${f%.*}.txt

##--mkvmerge
mkvmerge -o /media/data/mkv_unclean/${f%.*}.mkv --attachment-mime-type
text --attach-file $attachd/${f%.*}/framemd5_process.txt
--attachment-mime-type text --attach-file $attachd/${f%.*}/framemd5.txt
$mkv_in/${f%.*}.mkv

is cleaned
mkclean --remux /media/data/mkv_unclean/${f%.*}.mkv
/media/van_ex/${f%.*}/${f%.*}.mkv

files that do not validate are the bigger files
These are from ep vhs - so 2-4 hr in length
I have NO problems with file 1 hr or less. I *think the problems start
when a file ( the ffv1 mkv ) is more than 1hr 30 min

known ok 1hr 10 min 90 GB

known Fail 1hr 43 min 132 GB

------- reported err :: this is what is in the txt file of
mkvalidator --no-warn --quiet /$attachd/${f%.*}/${f%.*}.mkv 2>
/home/scenesavers/01_gagarin_logs/van_err_chck/${f%.*}.txt

a properly error free mkv will result in a txt file of 0 size.
I have offered her a few snips from a 1.1 GB txt file

Thank you
