Editing would only work with CFR content.
I fear previewing won't be possible (using
fccHandler's mpeg2 code) or at least quite hard.

IIRC ffvfw can encode to mpeg2 in VFW (at least mpeg2
was proposed in the version I had some times ago) mayb
it can decode it too ...
