Would a diff look like this :
+ #if defined(_MSC_VER)
...
- if (...)

I think that's highly unreadable at most ! I don't understand why it's 
better than comparing source files side by side...

(or maybe such tools like Beyond Compare or Araxis Merge don't exist on 
Linux ?)
