Heya,
maybe you're wondering why I'm so silent at the moment - well, the hot
phase of my diploma thesis has begun, and it'll take until at least
middle of March. I won't be any help during that period, I'm afraid. I
don't have much time for other things besides diploma thesis and doing
stuff for my company.
For what it's worth: gstreamer is a good choice, of course. We could
then write our own file reader/writer plugins with our own API (we
cannot use gstream for that, of course, as it gives far too few details
- just think about track languages, chapters, stuff...). Place a GUI on
top of that and we have at least a prototype. Of course there's still
the question of the 'scripting language'...
What I probably can do is draft some API for the readers. But all the
work I WILL be able to do will be on weekends.

If Darl McBride was in charge, he'd probably make marriage
unconstitutional too, since clearly it de-emphasizes the commercial
nature of normal human interaction, and probably is a major impediment
to the commercial growth of prostitution. - Linus Torvalds
