I can confirm that. That's why I was talking earlier (or on IRC) about
real CBR. Which is not even the case for MP3 CBR. In a system with
automatic lacing, it would be OK to have the fixed-size lace (PCM would
benefit from it). So we can keep it, even though it will rarely be used.
