When you look at the VOB/IFO files - do you see the subtitle stream?

Subject: [Matroska-users] Problem with DVD Santa

So I'm attempting to burn my first .mkv file to a dvd and I'm losing the subtitles in the process. Unfortunately the subs files are .ass so I used vobsub to make it a .srt. I've followed the directions given in the Matroska to DVD guide and when I preview the .mkv in DVD Santa the subtitles show up fine. However after I "create dvd" they get lost in the .mpeg. Any help you could provide in fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
