After having it installes the windows media player understand the mkv format and play the video files. I am have developed an application that plays multiple mkv files at the same time. The problem is whenever the video gets loaded, an icon of ffdshow and Hali media splitter appears in the system icon tray. Two icons for a single video displays. As I load more than one video it gets increased. Like for 3 videos loaded 6 icons appears. I do not want this to happen, I dont want the icons gets increased with every video load, as it clutters the system tray and looks awkward. Kindly tell me how to achieve it. Regards, Reenaz. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Never miss a thing. Alternatively you could do what i did, and setup a HTP (Home-Theater PC) with a video card with HDMI or DVI output. Converting the file into a DVD will loose you quality, because DVD is not HD capable. Maybe you can connect your normal PC to your HD-TV ? What do You mean with 'reproducing' ? Do you mean playback ? Of course you can play them without converting them frist, most Mediaplayers for PCs do have native MKV support these days, or can work with them as soon as the CCCP pack has been installed (for DirectShow based players). Also, thanks to the great Coreplayer most handheld devices (Palm, Mobilephones, etc.) can play MKV fine today. If you are talking about standalone DVD players for your living room, well ...... they are coming soon :-). Try for example http://www.tvix.co.kr/ENG/ ..... and more players are already in the works ! Christian matroska project admin P.S. This email should be going to matroska-general, not to matroska-devel, as this is really not related to the development of the container and the software.
