I swear. The short version of my story is that I started to collect hard disks since you told me I cannot burn hd movies to dvds. It was allright until I kicked my external winchester. Now it's full with bad sectors and dying, so few of my matroska files fail playing during watching them. What I'm trying to do is saving what I can. My question: Is there a way to see if an mkv movie is 100% percent working and has no errors in it? A check or something. I tried that inspector app available from your download section but it didn't tell me what I wanted to know. Thank you, MKV for president, Adam -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... He is obviously still fighting with the 'specials' of DirectShow, but obviously making his way. What a pitty that his nice app will probably never be able to output MKV files - at least no advanced files - because of the well known limitation of Video for Windows, on which Virtualdub is mainly based on. Anybody to confirm this ? I think it just says "will be supported when the specification is made" not saysing "already". And afaik no one answered to this: http://lists.matroska.org/pipermail/matroska-devel/2007-November/003256.html Liisachan From jkempenjr at satx.rr.com Wed Feb 20 05:39:13 2008 From: jkempenjr at satx.rr.com (James A Kempen Jr) Date: Tue, 19 Feb 2008 22:39:13 -0600 Subject: [Matroska-general] 5.1 sound help Message-ID: <000001c8737a$8d5484f0$a7fd8ed0$@rr.com> I am trying to get 5.1 sound thru an optical connection. If I play the mkv with nero showtime the sound comes out but no vid. If I play with vlc and change to spdif I get garbage. I could buy three stereo pin to rca and three rca cables but I really don't want to because it might not work either. Is there a codec for like power dvd or showtime? For instance, anime. They have english and japanese audio channels which i can choose when using vlc player. However, i wish to convert them into a PSP format which is usually .mp4 with japanese audio. Is that possible? I seek your understanding in this matter and hope to hear from you. I just added a small piece of typing to your logo. In this way it would be transliterated (scientifically) correct without changing it significantly.
