Also, you cant expect people to copy your email adress when replying, if you turn to a mailing list for help, you have to subscribe first (and may unsubscribe if your problems are solved). Also, how should we feel inclined to help you with YOUR problem if you are not even taking the time to tell us what programs you have installed already, and what exactly the error messages are when playing the file with them ? Datum: Thu, 26 Oct 2006 02:00:14 -0700 Von: Charles Iliya Krempeaux Newsgroups: gmane.comp.multimedia.ogg.theora.general Hello, (Sorry, this is a bit off-topic.) I was reading some stuff and came across the NUT container data format. (The NUT website is down... so I could not read up on it. But perhaps someone here knows about it.) Like Ogg and Matroska, NUT also seem to be a Free multimedia container data format. But how does it compare to Ogg (and even Matroska)? Why was it created when Ogg (and Matroska) already exist? (Does NUT have different design goals?) Here's the links for it... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NUT_Container http://www.nut.hu/ (was down though) See ya -- Charles Iliya Krempeaux, B.Sc. charles @ reptile.ca supercanadian @ gmail.com developer weblog: http://ChangeLog.ca/ -------------- next part -------------- An embedded and charset-unspecified text was scrubbed... After all NUT started just a little after we started coding Matroska, 5 years ago. And they still don't have stable specs/code. So I'm not too worried... There was also some discussion on ffmpeg-cvs recently about matroska. And given the comments from the NUT people it seems they just want to replace AVI without much more features... Or at least they never thought about all the features we already support.
