Message-ID: With a 2400 Pro and the latesy Catalyst drivers, I'm getting weird horizontal/vertical video corruption on any material that needs resizing/scaling to match the screen's resolution. See here; http://img112.imageshack.us/img112/1622/wtfmy1.jpg Doesn't happen with Overlay or VMR9. I've heard of one other person having exactly the same problem so I don't think it's a hardware issue. As it is now, if you have for example a nvidia 85/8600 card and want to use the H.264 features of the card, mkv-files only plays at roughly 20FPS, ie it is choppy. Would be great to see a fix for this implemented, as more and more people are buying the 85/600 or 24/600 series for their HTPCs. Here is a thread over att AVS Forum discussing it: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=852481&highlight=powerdvd+mkv Sincerely, Tomas From flocksoft at yahoo.it Sun Jul 8 19:20:18 2007 From: flocksoft at yahoo.it (flock) Date: Sun, 8 Jul 2007 17:20:18 +0000 (UTC) Subject: [Matroska-devel] Re: (MAYBE A) BUG: References: Message-ID: I've solved :) the problem is caused by ffdshow audio settings, not by Haali Matroska Splitter; the audio decoder for for mpeg I layer 3 and mpeg I layer 1 & 2 streams is (separately) libmad by default switching to mp3lib the problem is disappeared (so is the current libmad library unable to decode them) bye ;) From mimel1 at hotmail.com Mon Jul 9 23:32:47 2007 From: mimel1 at hotmail.com (Aggrippa) Date: Mon, 9 Jul 2007 17:32:47 -0400 Subject: [Matroska-devel] Seeking with EVO/VC1 and Haali does not work In-Reply-To: Message-ID: Whenever I try and seek the file locks up. I have tried a number of files and a number of haali splitter versions. Is this a known issue? If so is it being worked on? I can provide configuration and samples if needed. I was playing back a video series called TOKKO (a Japanese Anime title) and I was experiencing many crashes, often in the same place, sometimes not, and often depending whether I was full screen or not. After some experimenting I found if I used the internal Haali splitter in Media Player Classic the crashes stopped. I'm pretty new to debugging codec problems (I am a software deveolper IRL ^_^) so any suggestions as to what information I should gather about this particular video which would be helpful in determining the nature of this problem would be appreciated. -MrPeach From Steven.B.Brown at L-3Com.com Fri Jul 27 13:22:40 2007 From: Steven.B.Brown at L-3Com.com (Brown, SB Steven @ IS) Date: Fri, 27 Jul 2007 06:22:40 -0500 Subject: [Matroska-devel] Answers Message-ID: <7AA7308B49C9A648929E81CD96CF18BC06DF1F19@gvlexch01.is.l-3com.com> Would someone at matroska be able to answer some specific questions regarding video stream servers, clients, and client performance. I am experiencing unsatisfactory client performance. Currently my client uses directshow filters to receive, decode, and render video received from the streaming server. The server is encoding the video h.263+. While testing using VLC, I can stream a file which in replay consumes 60% utilization of my processor...but when served as a stream, my VLC client plays the video with no problems, 1-4% utilization. Are there solutions out there that have great client performance in a real time environment without sacrificing latency? Feel free to call me at the number below. __________________ Steven B. If you put the same video stream inside an AVI it works fine, else it runs at 20 fps. Regards..
