I have Sony HDR-SR8E AVCHD camcorder produced .m2ts files I want to play on
WMP and import in Windows Movie Maker without compromising use of Sony Picture
Motion Browser software supplied with the camera.
Using Haali mpeg-ts splitter it seems to work fine in Windows Media Player.
The problems I encountered are:
1) When trying to import stream in Windows Movie Maker, I see the Haali
splitter loaded (icon in the tray) and then after 1 second get one popup with
the messages "Impossible d'importer C:\Users\Pierre\Desktop\Video
Formats\20071216214342.m2ts. Erreur non spécifiée
Impossible d'importer C:\Users\Pierre\Desktop\Video
Formats\20071216214342.m2ts. Erreur non spécifiée"
(sorry I am using a french version of Vista - translation: Unable to
import ... Unspecified Error) Note: message is repated twice (see below)
2) Sony Picture Motion Browser software does not work anymore after
installation of CoreAVC (well user interface is up and running but
display/play/edit of .m2ts result in a blank still picture)
I could drill down the issue (using GSpot, GraphEdit) to the splitter itself
(not the audio or video codec). Note: Gabest splitter is ok with Sony Pictue
Motion Browser but generates another issue as audio is NOT rendered in WMP
anymore (Windows Movie Maker import still display a message though only one -
no repeated message in the popup see above-)
As I have no idea if yet another MPEG-TS splitter exists I can't get further
in my investigation.
Any idea -what can cause this clash?
thanks - regards, Pierre
